Mission

We are proud to feature presentations by women in data engineering, data science, and machine learning in a first of its kind conference in Slovenia. While our emphasis is on uplifting female voices, the event is open to anyone holding a valid ticket regardless of gender, identity, or technical background.

Come and talk about technical solutions, ethics, and social challenges that surface in data engineering, science and AI.

Take a look at W+DAI FESTIVAL in Berlin, which inspired us.

DATA_FAIR Café

supported by Docentric

We want to give all attendees a voice in knowledge sharing. This year’s event will wrap with DATA_FAIR Café, an opportunity to explore big questions about everyday data & AI bias that we don’t often get the chance to discuss with fellow data scientists and engineers.

As part of the Café, you’ll be able to join one of the following small group discussions moderated by diverse subject-matter experts:

  • Using AI assistants as a data scientist or engineer: Sharing tips, tricks & traps of using tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, and others in our work. (Group discussion lead: Špela Poklukar)
  • At the Bottom of the AI Rabbit Hole: Horror or Wonderland? Explore AI’s impact on society through different games and challenges. (Group discussion leads: Irena Vujčić Pavlović and Kristina Radomirović Maček)
  • Data-facilitated violence: Exploring how biases in data facilitate and enable real-world violence. (Group discussion lead: Anastasia Karagianni)
  • Data-driven desire and the rise of automated intimate relationships: Exploring how data-driven technologies are transforming modern romance. (Group discussion lead: Anamarija Šiša)
  • Gender and color in data visualization: Exploring how colors in visualizations can shape biases and how we can design for inclusivity. (Group discussion lead: Isabella Renzetti)
  • The green elephant in the data center: Exploring the environmental impact of increasingly larger datasets and models. (Group discussion lead: Alja Isaković)

On-site childcare

Childcare will be provided at the conference venue by Varuška Živa for children aged 1 to 5 years. As childcare spaces are limited, registration will be on a first-come first-served basis. All ticket holders will be notified about this in due time through Eventbrite.

How to get there?

The venue is very close to the city centre and parking at the venue is very limited. We recommend using public transport.

By train or bus: Ljubljana main train station is a 5 minute walk away from the venue. The closest city bus stop is one minute away, called "Razstavišče". You can use P+R service if arriving to Ljubljana by car.

By bike: Many bike racks are available at the venue entrance and nearby. Nomago bikes station is right next to the venue entrance. The closest BicikeLJ station is Bavarski Dvor.

By car: The venue does not have its own parking space. There are a few options nearby to consider.
